Venue

The conference will take place in the Kulturzentrum PFL, Peterstrasse 3. The former Peter Friedrich Ludwig Hospital, completed in 1841, is now a modern event centre and home to many of the city’s cultural institutions. Oldenburg’s city centre with its cafes and restaurants is within walking distance, as are most of the hotels and the train station.

Travel

The airport closest to Oldenburg is Bremen (BRE), which offers connections to European destinations including London-Stansted, Paris, and Vienna. The airport is 60 mins from Oldenburg by train.

Other airports within easy reach of Oldenburg are Hamburg (HAM) and Hannover-Langenhagen (HAJ) (both ca. 2 h by train), which offer connections to a wide range of European airports. Frankfurt (FRA) and Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) are the closest hubs for intercontinental connections (4-5 h by train from Oldenburg).

Oldenburg has frequent train connections, including a regular intercity connection, to Bremen and Hannover. Frequent local train connections to coastal destinations, including Norddeich, Leer, and Wilhelmshaven make Oldenburg the ideal starting point for a day trip to the North Sea shore.

Make sure your train tickets are for Oldenburg(Oldb), i.e. Oldenburg in Oldenburg, and not to Oldenburg (Holstein).

Oldenburg’s public transport offers more than 20 bus lines throughout the city, most of which leave from the central bus station at the north exit of the train station. However, most of the hotels as well as the conference venue are within walking distance of the train station.
